Review: Lash Brag Volumizing Mascara by Anastasia Beverley Hills

Is this mascara everything ABH claims it to be?

Long story short, I say YES!

Ive personally been avoiding this mascara since it was released as I am very picky when it comes to my lashes. I want volume, but not clumps; length, but no spider lashes; and it’s gotta be JET BLACK. When I saw the press release photos for the product, I couldn’t help but think the lashes on the models looked very clumpy which is exactly what I wanted to avoid. Even some of the review videos I’ve watched other influencers make left me believing that this was a volumizing mascara but that there were clumps to be had.

I was able to get my hands on a tube when I ran out of my long-time favourite Nars Climax mascara. Compared with other mascaras available at Sephora, this one seems on par with pricing. It’s not the cheapest mascara but it’s also not up there with the YSL products. I was glad to see that the mascara wand was large and had lengthy fibres . These seem to be the applicators I have the best luck with and they feel like they’re really grabbing the lashes to make sure the full lash is lifted, curled, and of course black. After applying the product myself it became clear that this mascara does different things depending on how you apply it. I’ve been using Lash Brag for about two weeks now and I have had zero issues with clumping or transfer to my under eyes. It even lasted through some light crying due to allergies even though Lash Brag does not claim to be waterproof.

As far as removal this mascara is easily removed with water and a makeup cleanser. It’s fairly similar to most mascaras on the market when it comes to ease of removal so you won’t be left tugging at your eyelids when it’s time to take it off. As far as aesthetics and packaging goes I love the look of the component. It’s sleek and black with a fade into a metallic gold/rose gold colour at the bottom. I like that the shape of the component is smooth and without textured grooves and strange shaped handles. It makes packing Lash Brag in your makeup bag simple without having to worry that makeup will get stuck in the pattern and texture of the tube and its a standard size that will fit in any makeup bag without issue.

So is it worth it for YOU to buy?

If you’re already spending upwards of $20 on mascara anyway like myself, I say absolutely! I love this mascara and I’m so glad I took a chance and decided to try it. If you’re trying to be more conservative with your spending I would say that there are plenty of amazing drugstore brands that are just as good for a fraction of the price. Remember you’re supposed to be replacing your mascara after 3-6 months, so you need to decide if you’re comfortable spending money on high end mascara every few months. As for myself, I would definitely purchase again and likely will once this tube runs out.
